The Intensive Foster Care Program provides comprehensive foster care services and placements for children from infancy to age 18, in specialized foster homes managed by Y.O.U., Inc. Children who enter the IFC program have typically been removed from their homes as the result of an emergency in the biological home, in order to ensure the safety and security of the child.
The program has the capacity to place children and adolescents with challenging behaviors into homes with foster parents who are well-trained to meet the needs of those clients. While in the care of the IFC program, our foster care clients receive case management services, individual and family counseling if warranted, and support for all basic needs such as transportation, advocacy, and medical attention.
The program also emphasizes the importance of focusing on a child’s strengths and interests while in care, in order to promote self-esteem and resiliency in the child in preparation for their return home. To that end, our case managers make every effort to encourage and support a child’s participation in activities such as youth sports, afterschool activities and the arts.
The Intensive Foster Care Program serves boys and girls ages birth to age 21; most clients are between the ages of 8 and 18.
