burncoatteen8145Program Snapshot

Our Teen Parent Apartment and Teen Living Programs are designed to provide homeless teen mothers, or those at risk of becoming homeless, with a safe, comfortable and supportive home in which they can learn to care for their child, and for themselves. In addition to providing basic needs such as transitional shelter for mother and child, the program offers comprehensive clinical and educational services that enhance the teen’s parenting skills, academic and vocational standing, social skills, and independent living skills.

The goal of the Teen Parent Living and Teen Apartment programs is to give mothers and their young children the confidence and opportunity to become happy, successful, and self-supporting members of their communities.

The Teen Parent Apartment Program operates from four duplex apartments located on Boylston Street in Worcester; the smaller Teen Living Program is located on Burncoat Street in Worcester. All of the apartments are designed to provide comfortable, private bedrooms for the teen mother and her child, as well as child-safe, shared living and dining areas. Each site includes space for a live-in “house parent”, who provides supervision and support to the teen mothers, and coordinates their day-to-day activities and services.
