Our Fundraising
Volunteers
It is often said that an agency's fundraising capacity
is only as good as its volunteers. Y.O.U., Inc. has been been blessed, over the years,
with dedicated, energetic individuals who are willing to go out into the community and
tell Y.O.U., Inc.'s story.
Our initial fundraising efforts began in 1986, when the agency
entered into its first capital campaign to renovate the former St. Joseph's School at 81
Plantation Street to be used for program space and agency administrative offices. With the
help and support of such key individuals as Carol Schmidt, Bob Cush-man, Bob Wetzel, Steve
Loring, Bruce Bennett, Ben Schenck, Bob Cousy, Sarah Robertson and Judge Lucian Manzi, we
were able to raise $1.2 million to complete the project.
Because of the success of those early efforts, we were encouraged
to expand our fundraising plan. Over the years, volunteers have contributed thousands of
hours toward the never-ending process of fundraising. Currently, we have a very active and
energetic Development Committee who we would like to thank for their commitment to
Y.O.U.,Inc. The members are: Gary MacConnell, Chair, Donald Ayres, Lisa Banks, Fairman
Cowan, Gary Gaffin, Robert Hallock, Kathleen Rouleau, Polly Traina, Bruce Wells and
Douglas Meystre.
