Children and adolescents
are placed by numerous agencies including, but not limited to, the Department of Social
Services, Fallon, Massachusetts Behavioral Health Partnership, Tufts, DMH, DYS, NHP,
Commonworks Network, and Modern Assistance Programs. Referrals are accepted 24 hours per
day. |

The Wetzel Center
specializes in servicing children and youth ages 7-18 and has expertise in all areas of
emergency placement, short term crisis stabilization, diagnostic evaluation, and hospital
diversion. Children and adolescents are referred for treatment when it is determined that
they need an intensive level of care and supervision. |

| Setting |
The Wetzel Center is located in the city of Worcester within easy
access to area hospitals, DSS offices, courts, schools, and community treatment
facilities. The program is designed as a staff secure program with intensive clinical
staffing designed to insure the clients safety, while providing intensive
therapeutic services. |
| Services |
Hospital Diversion and
diagnostic services are available to children and adolescents who may need short-term
crisis stabilization and comprehensive evaluations. Services include individual
counseling, group counseling, family evaluation and therapy, milieu assessment and
observation, psychiatric evaluation within 24 hours of admission, educational component,
nutritional counseling, specialing, evaluations, risk assessments, and discharge planning
and collateral referral. |
