Youth are referred by the Department of Social
Services, private insurance companies, hospitals, MBHP, Commonworks, and other managed
care companies. Admissions can be done 24 hours a day. |
| Population |
Youth referred for services are between the ages of
11-18. Many of these youth are in the custody of the Department of Social Services either
because of family difficulties such as abuse or neglect, running away from home, school
truancy, drug and alcohol abuse, and/or oppositional behaviors at home or in the
community. Many of these youth have been the victims of physical or sexual abuse. |

| Setting |
The Village program is located in the city of
Worcester. The program has 24-hr/day staffing with schoolrooms and teachers in the program
to provide educational services. |
| Services |
Respite and diagnostic services are available to
adolescents who may need short-term crisis stabilization and temporary out of home or
program placement. Services include individual counseling, 24-hour intake capability,
group counseling, assessments, medication evaluations, and treatment planning in a
residential milieu setting. Residents are also provided with educational services in a
structured classroom as well as therapeutic recreational planning. Work is done in
conjunction with D.S.S., Commonworks, M.B.H.P., and other referral sources in order to
maximize treatment potential and generate an effective discharge plan. |
