Carol Schmidt Village

schmidtvil8172Program Snapshot

The Carol O. Schmidt Village is a co-ed, residential treatment program offering three levels of care: a Community-Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) residential program for children and adolescents, short-term crisis stabilization and hospital-diversion services in the Transitional Care Unit (TCU), and longer term care for adolescents who are placed in the Behavioral Treatment Residence (BTR). These clients participate in individual and family counseling during their stay, and attend school in the community.

The Village offers a 24-hour intake capability, and a dedicated, caring staff committed to providing a safe, secure environment in which clients can begin to stabilize and address the issues that led to the initial crisis.

The Village Residence

The Carol O. Schmidt Village program is housed in a bright and spacious facility, with separate adolescent and latency units. The facility provides a warm and home-like atmosphere with clean and comfortable bedrooms and living space, a full kitchen and dining area, and a yard for outdoor play.

Our Clients at a Glance

The Village serves boys and girls ages 9 to 18, often in the custody of the Department of Children and Families as a result of family difficulties, abuse and neglect, school truancy, runaways, drug and alcohol abuse, and oppositional behavior at home or in school.
