Program Snapshot

The Y.O.U. Inc. Educational Day Academy is a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved alternative middle and high school offering specialized academic instruction, assessments, and clinical services for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities which have interfered with the ability to succeed in a less restrictive academic or mainstream educational setting.

The Academy provides a safe, consistent and supportive environment where students receive grade level instruction in academic and vocational areas, the arts, and outdoor recreational/therapeutic experiential learning. The program ensures small class sizes, and the comprehensive curriculum is aligned with MA Common Core Standards and Curriculum Frameworks. Students also receive functional behavioral assessments and intervention planning, as well as clinical services appropriate to meet their individual needs and diagnosis.

The Educational Day Academy emphasizes structure, positive reinforcement, and personal responsibility. Students are also invited and encouraged to participate in a summer program featuring extended vocational training and community service. All high school students in the program participate in a pre-employment skills training focusing on transition skills, job search skills, career planning, completing job applications, successful interviewing techniques, and workplace responsibilities.
