For students requiring specialized educational and mental health services not readily available in traditional school settings, Y.O.U., Inc.’s Education and Employment component offers comprehensive programs including two day schools, two college access programs, adult education and GED programs, and a 45-day Assessment Program providing comprehensive special education, behavioral, clinical, and substance abuse evaluations for middle and high school students.

Students at the Y.O.U., Inc. Educational Day Academy in Millbury benefit from a broad academic and vocational curriculum supported by comprehensive therapeutic services.  The Upward Bound and Youth Academy programs provide promising but at-risk high school students from Worcester with intensive academic supports, college counseling services, internship opportunities, and an on-campus, residential experience that combine to help these students achieve their dreams of a college education. Dynamy Internship Year is a “gap-year” program offering experiential learning, internships and independent living situations for high school students following their senior year. 

Finally, the component’s Education for Employment Program gives out-of-school youth between the ages of 16 and 21 an opportunity to earn their GED, explore career options, and prepare for post-secondary education or employment.

 

Education and Employment Programs

Adult Basic Education/Education for Employment provides structured academic supports and tutoring to students who have dropped out of a traditional high school, with a goal of obtaining a General Education Diploma (GED). The programs provide students with the tools necessary to improve their academic performance, obtain their GED, matriculate to higher education, or become successful in a work environment.

Dynamy Internship Year is an innovative gap year program for young adults who want a full academic year of internship and experiential learning opportunities before moving on to college; specialized services are also available for students with learning disabilities.

Upward Bound (Bruce Wells Scholars) and Dynamy Youth Academy provide comprehensive academic and personal supports, college and career planning, , life skills and job readiness training, and internship opportunities for promising but at-risk high school students from the Worcester public high schools.

Y.O.U., Inc. Educational Day Academy is a Chapter 766-approved alternative high school offering specialized academic instruction, assessments, and clinical services for students with emotional and behavioral problems which have interfered with the ability to succeed in a less restrictive setting.
