Description
The Teen Parent Apartment Program is a transitional housing program for pregnant and parenting homeless teen mothers and their children. All residents must be in a day program 30 hours per week (high school, GED, college, job training or work). Babies must be in daycare. All residents are required to meet with their houseparent and case manager once a week, attend group on Wednesday evening, attend therapy, and meet with Early Intervention for their baby if appropriate. The program was developed as a housparent model. The houseparent lives in one of the apartments and is available 24 hours a day. There is also a case manager.
Population
Pregnant and parenting homeless teen mothers, aged 16-20, and their children.
