Description
Exilda Morin House is a transitional housing program for adolescent girls involved with the Department of Social Services. All residents attend a day program (high school, GED, college, or job training). Residents must also have a part-time job. Residents are required to pay a program fee the first of each month, which is based on their take home pay. All residents must meet with their houseparent weekly, attend group on Wednesday evening, eat dinner together Monday through Thursday, attend therapy, do chores, cook once a week and assist with the weekly grocery shopping. The program was developed as a houseparent model. The program consists of a large house, with residents residing on the second floor. There are three bedrooms for four residents. Residents also share a living room and bathroom. The kitchen is located on the first floor and is shared with the houseparent. The housparent lives on the first floor and is available 24 hours a day. There is also a case manager.
