Program Snapshot

Cottage Hill Academy provides a comprehensive range of residential, educational, and therapeutic services for adolescents, on a unique and beautiful campus in North Central MA. Services are tailored to the individual needs of each client, and range from long-term residential care coupled with a comprehensive middle or high school curriculum, to short-term placements with supportive educational services, and a Therapeutic Day school for children living in the community.

The experienced staff at Cottage Hill is committed to providing outstanding care in a trauma-sensitive environment, recognizing the vital importance of including the client’s family, other treating agencies, educational advocates and caseworkers in their treatment plans. In fact, the campus includes a separate residence which can house visiting families or caregivers traveling from a distance, or for therapeutic family sessions and activities during a client’s stay at Cottage Hill.

Residential clients and day students have access to a comprehensive Medical Department, staffed by nurses and offering 24-hour triage in person or by phone as appropriate. Health, nutrition, and physical education are a vital component in each Cottage Hill Academy program, and the campus also includes a full gym, rock-climbing wall, walking trails, and a certified Adventure Challenge Experience (ACE) ropes course.

The Cottage Hill Campus

The Cottage Hill campus includes three comfortable and spacious residential cottages designed to provide a home-like setting for the clients in our care. Each cottage includes private bedrooms, full kitchens, therapeutic meeting rooms, recreational spaces and common areas.

Our school and treatment center includes smaller yet fully modern classrooms designed to meet the individual needs of each student, along with a science lab, culinary arts room, pottery/art studio, computer lab, library and media center, and full service cafeteria. The expansive building also includes private therapy space, meeting rooms, and staff offices.
