Y.O.U., Inc. Kenya Project

The Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund

The Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund (SFRTF) is currently working on the national level to build a Child Welfare infrastructure in Kenya. The current initiative, The Sunguma School, is a co-educational, government-run boarding school that is currently housing and schooling children who were previously homeless. By creating a training partnership with the SFRTF, there would be a dynamic exchange of human service professionals between Worcester and Kenya allowing for greater opportunities for improving the sustainability of The Sunguma School.

Y.O.U., Inc. is currently working with the Worcester Rotary and the Laganda Rotary in Kenya to secure a donation of farm animals to The Sunguma School. Utilizing the services of Heifer International, the donation will provide both opportunities for practical animal and agricultural training, and nourishment for the students at the school. Y.O.U., Inc. is also working to identify grant money that would provide healthcare to the students at The Sunguma School.
